So far, the Trenat editions have been decided on the basis of proposals from designers who have already been interested in the use of natural fibres in their projects. On the other hand, the designers with whom we have developed editions value, as much as we do, local craftsmanship.
As an editor, you have the opportunity to work on creative projects, from conceptualisation to execution. You can collaborate with authors you admire, develop new ideas and contribute to the creative process. Editing involves having to deal with technical aspects and this gives you the opportunity to constantly learn about different fields. I am very interested in the whole process of editing new collections, not only the final result but also the whole path of conceptualisation, testing, prototyping, relationship with the artisans, decision making … This is why I consider it essential that the relationship with the designers is close and encouraging. In short, being an editor is very rewarding both on a personal and professional level, as you have the opportunity to work on creative projects and enjoy a dynamic and diverse activity.
The essence of Trenat, a publisher of products made from natural fibres, lies in the knowledge and appreciation of natural materials, as well as the ability to transform them into high quality end products. We want to highlight the value of the manufacture and craftsmanship of these organic materials.
Our distinctive style is to edit pieces from natural fibres with high value both in design and workmanship. Our style aims to be timeless, with a mix of contemporary and ancestral influences.
At Trenat we aim to unite design and local manufacturing by producing products that are not only aesthetically attractive and functional, but also meaningful and valued for their connection with history, culture and craft skills.
