‘Planta’ means plant in Spanish. I wanted to create a big wire sculpture that climbs upwards and lifts plants from the ground, displaying them at different heights.
The Planta sculpture is made out of thin, yet strong, iron wire. These structures are like drawing a line in space. The pot holders are open and reflect the tension between space and rigidity. The iron is thin yet solid, holding the pots in the air.
There is a three dimensionality to each model: depending on which angle you look from, Planta always looks different. The clean, simple terracotta pots are funnel-shaped, light and elegant. They come in a beautiful burgundy red and a dark, forest green, adding visual depth and harmony to the plants.
